June 30, 2025 | 1 PM Whale Watch

Today was a great way to wrap up June and welcome July with a splash!

We used our full time (plus a little extra!) out exploring the Salish Sea. First, we made a turn to head through Guemes Channel and then towards Rosario Strait. We quickly were able to see a humpback whale calf breaching out in the distance so we quickly made our way out to meet up with Europa and her new calf! We had so much fun watching this calf breach, as well as mamma’s tail slapping quite a few times. Captain Shane decided to go after some reports of killer whales out towards Dungeness Point so we made the journey out there, and it was well worth it!

Not only did we get to see one pod of killer whales, but we saw two huge pods! We started off with the T46B pod and then made our way to see the T109As, a group we don’t always get to see in the Salish Sea! We were able to get great views of both pods. But had to make the turn to make it back to the dock! We did slow down at Minor Island to watch two bald eagles, one of which was eating something and ripping pieces off of it on the shore, and some harbor seals. It was a great day out West!

If you're looking to join on of our 5 PM trips this week, book online with discount code "Evening345" for $30 off 5 PM tours on July 3rd, 4th, and 5th!

Whale wishes,

Clare
