Bigg's Killer Whales (T46Bs)
Harbor Seals
July 1, 2025 | 1 PM Whale Watch
This afternoon’s group had some good karma! Right before we left the dock, we heard reports of some killer whales in the heart of the San Juan islands! We quickly got off the dock and made our way inner island and got to see beautiful views of the San Juan’s. We did a slow down in Pole Pass and continued up towards Spiden Island where we met up with the T46B pod. This was the same pod we saw last night! They had made it all the way from Port Angeles/Sequim area to where we met them today! We got to see these whales zooming by some harbor seals, divide and conquer lots of area, and come back together to swim amongst the bull kelp forests! We even saw the calf in the group be a little playful with some tail action! It was a beautiful, flat calm day out there, we couldn’t have been luckier! We made the turn towards home going back the same way we came and got to see stunning views of Mt Baker the whole way home.
Whale wishes,
Clare
