What a special day we had out on the water this afternoon! We started off our trip going around the backside of Guemes Island, slowing down to checkout a Bald Eagles nest with one sweet eaglet hanging out in the nest and a parent soaring high above!
Then we went straight for Cyprus Island where we met up with the T99 family. When we arrived, we got to see T99C tail slapping and the rest of the family grouping up together and dragging their lunch around (we even got a quick glimpse of a piece of their lunch!) we got to spend quality time viewing these whales before heading towards the sister islands to view Harbor seals and some stellar sea lions (one young stellar as well!) hanging out on the red navigation marker. The little stellar definitely stole the show! It was quite sweet huddling up next to mom.
We then were able to catch up with the same orcas we saw earlier in the day on our way back to the dock and saw them in their resting mode. After a few minutes, our boat made the peaceful cruise back to the dock. The rain stopped for the whole trip, and it was a beautiful day all around. Great first trip back this season!
