Heading out today the rains seemed to slowly clear away as we made our way south. When we crossed through Deception Pass we were surprised by a sighting of a Steller sea lion and out of nowhere a California sea lion. Near the south end of the Swinomish Channel we found a few bald eagles hanging out looking for fish. We continued south into the Saratoga passage and joined a large group of Bigg's orca whales outside Penn Cove.

It ended up being a big mix of multiple different pods, all traveling together, and prey sharing. T65A5 Indy was in the mix even though the other large makes from the other pods were not around. After an amazing time with these whales before we headed back up toward Deception Pass. As we cruised back through the pass we spotted a few belted king fishers, a bunch of great blue herons, and a few harbor seals. We cruised back up to Anacortes having had a memorable day in the Salish Sea!
