July 25, 2026 | 8 AM, 1 PM, and 5 PM Whale Watch

8 AM

We left the dock with thick fog this morning, but ended up being the hero's of the day for the fleet! We decided to head to the least amount of fog and turned out of Guemes Channel and into Bellingham Channel, we then poked out towards Lummi Island and did a scan, stopping to see some Stellar sea lions on top of the navigation marker. We then decided to make a turn towards the inner islands as the fog cleared up, we went through Peavine Pass and headed towards Cattle Pass. We exited the pass and made our way towards Salmon Bank and did a slow down there and middle bank. Out of no where we got an on shore report outside of Victoria that we saw a couple of orcas off the same point where we saw them last night. We kicked it into high gear and made our way towards Ten mile point where we were able to find the T38 brother and sister pair we saw last night! We got to see them traveling along the shore lines and traveling through the Kelp. Eventually, we had to depart the scene and make our way back through the Strait of Juan de Fuca. We went around the south end of Lopez and back into Rosario Strait on our way home. A bonus was some passengers got to see a humpback whale and one minke whale surface out in the distance once or twice each on our cruise home! It was a long journey, but so worth it for a couple of Orca whales! - Clare

This afternoon we left the dock with clear skies and flat calm waters! We knew there were whales all the way out where we saw our whales this morning and luckily they were traveling slow enough that we were able to catch up with them! We made our way into Rosario strait and got some great views of the Burrows Island Light house. We then pointed towards the south end of Lopez Island where we got to step outside and slow down. We saw lots of Pigeon Guillemonts and Bull Kelp. We then continued on our way crossing into Canada and catching up with BCY0524, a lone male humpback that was surfacing frequently. We got to see this humpback cruising along heading south east. Eventually we had to make the turn home, coming back the same way we came. The waters were blue, flat calm and full of bird activity! We saw the Cattle Point light house on the way back as well. It was a beautiful afternoon exploring the Strait of Juan de Fuca and Canada! -Clare

5 PM

A relaxing evening with a little humpback! We enjoyed calm waters and a sweet little humpback north of Orcas.Our route through the islands brought lovely scenery and lots of bald eagles! The highlight was of course a little humpback whale who was cruising in the current lines. We had some great looks as it trekked along and a surprise surfacing off our starboard! This charming whale stole our hearts and we got good views of its flukes! We love calm evenings on the water with ocean giants! -Juliann
