If you would have told me today was October 5th, I would not have believed you. With blue skies as far as the eye could see and a warm gentle breeze blowing in we made our way past a common loon, out of Cap Sante, and into the Salish Sea. We headed south in Rosario Strait and stopped at Colville Island to check out some harbor seals on the rocks. From that point we cruised out, far to the west and into Canadian territory. As we cruised a sharp eyed passenger spotted a dorsal fin off our stern and we stopped just in time to see a lone male orca going on a dive. We circled back and quickly joined up with an orca known as T49C "Janet/Nielsen" as he was scouting the waters south of Constance bank.

After some great looks we waved goodbye to him as he continued west and before we got up to speed, we found ourselves on scene with a humpback whale. The humpback was MMY0048 "Titan" and thanks to it's deep divided by behavior we got a great ID shot. We headed east after that and as we neared Hein Bank, Captain Carl found us a lone sea otter out of nowhere. We got some great views of it and then began our nice cruise back to Cap Sante Anacortes.
