Heading out today, the waters of the Salish Sea were absolutely spectacular. We headed through Thatcher Pass and after navigating through heavy boat traffic inside the San Juan islands, we joined up with the T65B's as they were heading into the San Juan channel. We got some amazing looks and even got a view of them swimming past a channel marker with a bald eagle on top of it. We hung with them for a while before turning back toward home. On our return trip we stopped at Pointer Island which is currently a nursery for sea gull chicks and harbor seal pups. We saw all sorts of babies on this small wildlife refuge before making our way back to Anacortes.

This evening's weather was spectacular as we left Cap Sante marina. We headed west on our search through the heart of the San Juan islands. We slowed down through Pole Pass and found a gaggle of geese and a belted kingfisher. From there we headed to the Cactus Islands and joined the T65B'S as they were hunting harbor seals and frolicking in the heavy current. The hunt seemed successful a couple times and we relished the chance to watch an apex predator do what it was made to do. Heading back to the east we made our way through Wasp Pass and continued in to Cap Sante marina with a beautiful setting sun to the west.
