It was a beautiful and perfect Father's Day, and we spent the day with multiple pods of Bigg's killer whales!

As we left the marina we found a great blue heron hunting in the shallows outside of Cap Sante marina before powering up and heading into the Salish Sea. We started our adventure to the south and after curving into Burrows Pass we swung over to Young Island to check out a bob of harbor seals. We continued south and stopped at Williamson Rocks to check out a juvenile bald eagle and some more harbor seals.

Angling south, we headed down to Partridge Bank and joined the T34s, T37s and T38C as they were initially hunting and then traveling north towards Smith Island. These three different groups of Biggs orca whales were quite a sight to see on such a beautiful sunny day. We followed them to Smith Island and while we were there we found a few tufted puffins amongst all the auklets and guillemots. We continued to watch the orcas for a bit before splitting off and checking out a sea otter that was out cruising through the deeps. We headed up to Lopez Island after that and found some bald eagles in flight and on Castle Rock before we continued to make our way back to Anacortes.

It was another phenomenal day in the Salish Sea, and we're counting down the days until our Extended Range Tour on Friday!
