July 8, 2026 | 10 AM Whale Watch

We started off our trip with wide open waters and opportunities. We made our way across Rosario Strait stopping at Bird Rocks to view nesting Cormorants and resting harbor seal mom and pups. We then continued under way and came across the Gray Whale CRC-2702 hanging in the same area he has been local to this season. We then made our way North heading between Lopez and Decatur Island before turning and heading towards San Juan Channel and Cattle Pass. We heard a report of a humpback in the area and made our turn towards there!

We caught up with BCX2473 just north of Cattle Pass where it quickly made a turn and started to head North which was great for us! We got to see this whale fluke multiple times and saw it travel as fast as 7 knots! It was on the move! Eventually we continued our search going through Thatcher pass and peaking behind Guemes island to spot a few Bald Eagles before we made our way back to the dock. It was a beautiful day topped off with blue skies and sunshine!
